POLYVALENT GASTROPHAGE "MediPhage"
Trade name: Polyvalent Gastrophage ''MedPhage'' Active ingredient (INN): Bacteriophage. Dosage Form: Liquid for oral and rectal administration.
Pharmacological properties:
Polyvalent Gastrophage “MediPhag”'' is an immunobiological drug, a mixture of specific viruses that selectively lyse bacteria of the genus Salmonella, Shigella, Proteus, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and various serogroups of Escherichia coli, the most significant in the etiology of enteral diseases. Phage particles attach to the membrane of sensitive bacteria, penetrate into the cell and multiply at the expense of its resources. This results in cell death and the release of mature virulent phage particles capable of infecting other sensitive bacterial cells. The bacteriophage does not affect other bacteria, in particular, it does not disturb the natural microflora. It is used for the treatment and prevention of infections of the gastrointestinal tract caused by Salmonella, dysentery bacteria, Proteus, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, eschirichia coli, or a combination thereof.

Phaging with the drug "Polyvalent Gastrophage “MediPhage” is conducted among children and service personnel in preschools, schools and pioneer camps during the seasonal rise in the incidence. The optimal scheme of use is the daily intake of a single therapeutic dose depending on age (as well as for treatment purposes). The duration of the drug administration is determined by the conditions of the epidemiological situation.

Special instructions
Treatment with bacteriophage should be started as early as possible. Before use, the liquid preparation must be shaken.
TURBID PREPARATION IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE!
The preparation contains a nutrient medium in which bacteria from the environment can develop. Therefore, when opening the vial, withdrawing and storing the bacteriophage the following rules must be observed:
- hands should be washed thoroughly;
- before removing the cap from the vial, it should be treated with an alcohol solution;
- the cap should be removed without removing the stopper;
- the drug from the opened vial should be taken with a sterile syringe (by puncturing the stopper);
- if, when opening the vial, the stopper was removed together with the cap, then the vial should not be left open;
- the opened vial must be stored in the refrigerator. The drug from the opened vial, subject to the storage conditions, the above rules and the absence of turbidity, can be used during the entire shelf life.
Pregnancy and lactation
By decision of the doctor, the drug Polyvalent GastroFAG “MediPhage” can be used during pregnancy.
Drug form
4 vials of 20 ml, 1 vial of 100 ml or blister of 4, 8, 10 or 20 capsules in a cardboard box along with instructions for medical use in the state and the Russian languages.
Storage conditions. To be stored in a place protected from light, at temperature from +2°С to +10°С.
